California QSO Party

Club members gathered in Redwood Park to participate in the annual California QSO Party. For today's activation we deployed Eric's regular POTA gear, set up went quickly and we were soon scanning the bands for contacts. The actual band conditions were good and we could hear dozens of stations on the 20m band.

Being in a listed park for POTA we also worked towards activating the park as a club in that program. Eric was first on the radio and quickly made 5 contacts in California, Joe took over and completed 10 more contacts which also got him his first POTA activation. Eric then resumed calling and finished with 11 contacts in the log, gaining him another activation in the park.

Having completed Eric's numbers we decided to head to Sammy J's for a nice lunch and decent conversation.
