Sunday Coffee Meetings

Each second Sunday of the month, the WRARC meets at the Centennial Arena for a business meeting.

When the WRARC meets on non-meeting Sundays, we enjoy coffee or a soda at the Java Express on 16th Avenue and Martin Street. From 5 to a dozen members and friends of local amateur radio meet to discuss various radio topics or to shoot the breeze from soup to nuts. All are welcome.

Many, many thanks to the Resonance Café, and its proprietor Richard, for formerly hosting our Sunday coffee meetings - unfortunately, Richard has moved on to other enterprises.

The pictures below are from the coffee meeting held January 18, 2009 at our old café location.

Pictures include the proprietor, Richard, serving Ross as we gather. The group shot includes VE7OFH, VA7QB, VE8UVL, VE7EGK, VE7CRT and VE7OW.

A surprise guest at the meeting was VE7IO, Fred Orsetti, from the Surrey club, who is also active in the SEPAR network. Pictures below include Fred signing the card for Silent Key Colin McIntyre, VE7BXX, a former member of the WRARC. Fred also showed us pictures of his reorganized shack, an onerous task but one which makes contesting a lot easier.

Fred and Eric also take advantage of the Resonance Café’s wireless internet to peruse on-line ham resources.
