Club Sponsored Activities

These activities are attended by multiple members of the club. Generally they are also sponsored by the club but may involve outside orgainzations.

The club enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner together at Pavlos Restaurant on December 8th. The club had been looking forward to participating in the annual International Field Event since we finished last year’s event. This one event is the biggest single day for Hams throughout North America and is a great opportunity to practice our hand in emergency like conditions. This year the White

It had been quite some time since the club had done a field deployment and we were itching to get out there and try our hand at a field setup. It would also make for a good practice round for the upcoming annual Field Day event in late June. We decided to head to Kwomais Point Park in the Ocean Park

This year the club decided to hold a field event to work the RAC Winter Contest. We also wanted to combine the event with the activation of a Lighthouse. To do this we had to operate on the only day where the two contests over-lapped – December 18th.  So the date was fixed but the location was open

We were graced with a number of wives, parents and grand children bringing the total at dinner to 19! So this year was a biggest turn out in many


Today’s HF test in the back country was planned to be on Siwash Creek Road, behind Spider Peak. This road connects the Fraser Canyon near the Alexandra Bridge with the Coquihalla by Carolin Mine. It was hopefully going to be a fun drive through the valley.

On Monday, Feb 8, 2010, three members of the White Rock ARC participated in the vintage Steam Engine, the ‘Royal Hudson’ arriving for a brief visit to White Rock. This steam engine, pulling a number of passenger cars left the main station in Vancouver with Jay, VE7OFH on board to forward position

Members of the club got together again this year for a lovely dinner at the ABC restaurant in South Surrey. We all enjoyed the fellowship and festive occasion where we had a chance to socialize a bit longer than at our regular coffee meetings.
