Island 22 & Fairfield Parks

Island 22 & Fairfield Parks

In late January Jim & Eric set out in Jim's truck to activate two parks in the Chilliwack area. Island 22 regional Park sits alongside the Fraser River and offers some nice views of the river and mountains to the north. Fairfield Park in an urban park in the northern part of Chilliwack. We first set up in Island 22 with the truck pulled into a stall facing north. In just under an hour of operating we completed 35 contacts. across North America including five park-to-park stations. It is always fun to have a clear signal between here and stations in Florida, of which, we had two on this adventure. Done with Island 22 we packed up and drove to Fairfield Park where we completed a further 32 contacts. Here we made 8 park-to-park contacts but failed to hear Florida though we had several from New York, New Jersey, andMaryland - lovely coast-to-coast contacts.
