Tour de White Rock

Tour de White Rock

Club members were once again involved in the Tour de White Rock - July 12-14. This is a big three day event for the city and club members have been involved in communication support the past number of years. Prior to our involvement, city staff had reported several problems they were encountering with their communication system. We have been able to help with the event in providing our expertise in keeping the officials in communication.

This year we once again passed times and position information between the start and finish lines of the hill-climb for the Friday event. On Sunday we set-up the UHF repeater at the end of the pier using one of the club members antennas. This provided good coverage for the race officials. Unfortunately part way through the race the repeater shutdown, it was fortunate that the long race was over and only the more narrowly confined short segment remained which enabled officials to switch to simplex for adequate coverage.

Coffee Meetings

We meet every Sunday at 3pm for coffee and a chance to share our recent adventures with radio technology. We really enjoy meeting new people who are interested in learning about Amateur Radio or even other Hams! Join us this Sunday. We currently meet at the food court in Semiahmoo Mall.

Please join us on our weekly net - every Thursday 7:30pm on the White Rock Repeater
